Music

For Germany, music has always been a large aspect of life. Germany and Austria are particularly famous for it's Baroque and Classical music. Sorry, I have not introduced any eras of music. There are 4 main eras:

• the Baroque era (approx. 1600 - 1750),
• the Classical era (approx. 1750 - 1830),
• the Romantic era (approx. 1830 - 1900) and
• the 20th Century era (approx. 20th century).

As I mentioned Austria and Germany are most famous for their Baroque and Classicalmusic. Although Vienna was probably Europe's centre of Classical music, Germany still had a pretty major roll in it. Germany performed its talents through great musical minds such as Bach (Baroque), Beethoven (Classical) and Brahms (Classical, Romantic) and so had no shortage of music.

In the following pages are synopsis of some of Germany's major composers lives, hopefully of ones you can recognise the names of (I tried to pick out the most famous)

If you have heard of Mozart but do not know why I have left him out it is because Mozart is Austrian.
