Bach, Johann Sabastian (1685 - 1750)
J.S. Bach came from a musical family which streched from 1600 and went on until 1900. In all there were 52 musical Bachs, The most famous being J.S. Bach. J.S. Bach was a Baroque composer.
J.S. Bach married twice. His first wife had seven children and his second had thirteen. Unfortunately only ten of the twenty children lived untill adulthood.
Bach worked as a court organist and chamber musician to a Duke. He applied for a job elsewhere as a Senior Keipplmaster in 1776 but was refused. He asked to be allowed to quit his current job, but the Duke jailed him for a month to get Bach to stay.
In 1718, however, he was offered a job as the Senior Keipplmaster again to which he accepted. In 1722 Bach applied for a job in a music school. He took on the job after his friend Telemann retired from it.
Bach's last 27 years of his life were spent working in the music school in Leipzig and four churches. After those last 27 years, Bach died at the age of 65, in 1750.
