Becker, Boris

Boris Becker was, and still is a very famous and incredible tennis player. At the age of 3, Becker was taught how to play tennis. He caught on quickly and by 9, he began competing in tournaments.

In 1984, Becker became a professional player. At 17 years old and 8 months old, Becker became the youngest men’s single competition winner in 94 years. He won again the next year and remained near the top in the following years. Becker was soon a member of the world’s top 5 tennis players. In 1989, Becker won both the US Open and Wimbledon. Until 1989, Becker had played under West Germany but, I presume, then changed to Germany when West and East were re-united.

In 1991, Becker won his first Australian Open. Then, with Michael Stich, Becker won the Summer Olympics men’s doubles tournament in 1992. In 1994, Becker won several minor awards, such as The Volvo International.

Boris Becker is noted for his smashing serve.
